God’s Precious Fine China

Raising three daughters in a culture that in many ways dehumanizes young ladies, I looked for ways to remind them of their true beauty and value. The Lord revealed to me an amazing truth in His Word:

“In a large household there are vessels not only of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for lofty and others for humble use. If anyone cleanses himself of these things, he will be a vessel for lofty use, dedicated, beneficial to the master of the house, ready for every good work.” (2 Timothy 2:20-21)
After sharing these verses with my daughters, I showed them the difference between the fine china we received as wedding gifts and ordinary paper plates. I told them they are God’s fine china, not to be used or mistreated or discarded by anyone. We talked about purity, and, of course, I warned them about boys (because that’s what dad’s do).

Last week, my wife, Dina, and Becki Campbell shared this message with their Junior High discipleship groups:

“You are fine china. The kind that needs to be cared for, treated tenderly, and hand washed. You are precious, one of a kind. You are NOT paper plates to be used and thrown away. You are worth more because of WHO created you. You are loved, treasured, and wanted. Remember that always! Also, we charge you to not tear other women down. Remind them that they are fine china!”

The impact was amazing. There were smiles and tears, but most importantly, a realization that these students were valuable and their life choices were important. Other teachers wondered why girls kept calling each other “fine china” in their classes!

The teachers also gave these young ladies a visual reminder of the truth for their lives (pictured above). What a powerful truth for all our children, both male and female! Every one of them has been individually handcrafted by the Master and set apart for His glorious purposes. Please join us in speaking value, purity, and purpose into the lives of our precious students. Remind the people in your life that they are God’s fine china!
