Ways to Give

The Salem Academy Foundation is committed to growing the endowment and supporting the mission of Salem Academy. Every gift helps strengthen the school, fund scholarships, and improve campus facilities. There are many ways you can make a lasting impact.

How to Support

No matter the size, every gift to the Foundation helps grow the endowment and expand its impact on the Salem Academy community. There are many ways to give: one-time contributions, recurring gifts, or planned giving opportunities, such as through your will or trust.

One-Time or Recurring Monetary Gifts

You can make a one-time gift or set up recurring gifts through the donations page: click the “Where would you like this donation to go?” drop down selection and choose “SA Foundation”.

Non-Monetary Assets

You can support the SA Foundation by donating assets other than cash, such as stocks, bonds, and real estate. Gifts of appreciated stocks or bonds may provide tax benefits while supporting the school. Planned Giving

Including a gift to the SA Foundation in your estate plan is a great way to create a lasting impact on future generations of students and may provide tax benefits.

There are a variety of ways to include the SA Foundation in your estate plan, such as a gift in your will or trust, or by designating the SA Foundation as a beneficiary on life insurance policies, retirement accounts, and other assets that pass outside of a will or trust.

Sample Language

Below is suggested language to use for your gift to the SA Foundation in a will or trust:

For an unrestricted gift that allows the SA Foundation to determine how to use the funds based on the most pressing needs of Salem Academy, use the following language:

“[I give/my trustee shall distribute] [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] to Salem Academy Foundation Inc., an Oregon nonprofit corporation, currently located at 942 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, Oregon 97301 (EIN 23-7052987), or its successor thereto, to be used as its board of directors shall determine.”

To designate your gift for a particular purpose, such as capital improvements or scholarships:

“[I give/my trustee shall distribute] [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] to Salem Academy Foundation Inc., an Oregon nonprofit corporation, currently located at 942 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, Oregon 97301 (EIN 23-7052987), or its successor thereto, to be used for [state purpose]. If, in the judgment of the board of directors of Salem Academy Foundation, Inc., it shall become impossible or impractical to use this gift for the designated purpose, Salem Academy Foundation, Inc. may use this gift for such other purpose as its board of directors shall determine”.
