Spiritual Emphasis Week; Wednesday

Today’s theme was about the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9). Upperclassmen and their younger peers discussed the meaning of the story and the need of always obeying God. His understanding exceeds ours. God gives us commands from a point of unfathomable wisdom. Many times, we will not see the whole picture and will lack insight, which is why it is critical to believe God’s word.

At the Tower of Babel, God scrambled languages and scattered nations across the world. Leaning on our understanding can have lasting consequences. Proverbs 3:5-6 states that we should “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Though we do not know what the whole path looks like, we can trust an all-knowing and loving God to guide us.
