Preschool/Childcare
Salem Academy has a comprehensive PreK program serving 90 students and includes a summer childcare offering. Preschool is for students ages 3 (must be potty-trained) and 4 years old. Please note that the process for preschool admissions differs from our K-12.

We know many families sacrifice in order to provide an excellent education for their student(s). A core value of Salem Academy is to take care of the resources God has entrusted to us.

Applications for the 2026-27 year will open FEBRUARY 1; 2025 tax returns required.
The Salem Academy Financial Aid Fund has been established for families who seek to have their children at Salem Academy, but require financial assistance to make that possible. Requests for financial aid are to be made annually.
- You may submit your 2026-27 application on or after February 1.
- There is a $45 processing fee per application, payable to FACTS.
- Applications completed in full take approximately 4-6 weeks to process.

The financial aid application is submitted through FACTS Grant and Aid. They review and verify the information submitted prior to the application being presented to the Salem Academy Financial Aid Committee. Tailored tuition is our financial aid committee’s philosophy on approving financial aid packages. The Committee may also request clarification or further information prior to final aid determination and notification.
Enrolled SA families can apply for financial aid through their FACTS Family Portal account. Please note you will need your 2025 completed tax information to finish your application.
NOTE: Preschool is not eligible for Financial Aid.
Salem Academy Christian Schools admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.

International Student Program
Salem Academy Christian is a private school founded in 1945 and located on a 20-acre campus in Salem, Oregon. Salem is the capitol of Oregon, with a population of around 160,000. The SA campus includes 6 classroom buildings; 2 gymnasiums; softball, baseball, football, and track fields; and the administration building.
SA is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools and a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. The High School in 2015-2016 has over 215 students and 28 international students from Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, and Vietnam. Since SA is not a boarding school, all international students are placed with host families.

SA accepts host family applications year round! Whether hosting a student all through high school, one year, or for a 3-month program, Salem Academy is always looking for families who are willing to care for our international students as their own.

ISP ADMISSIONS
- Information: Read the ISP Information 26-27
- Apply: ISP APPLICATION 26-27
- SA Process: Once completed application and documents are received, allow 2-3 weeks to process.
- Acceptance: If accepted, you will receive an I-20 form, letter of acceptance, letter for the U.S. Embassy, along with payment/VISA information.
- Placement: Once the student’s VISA has been confirmed, notify the school to begin placement with their new host family.

VIEW ADMISSIONS PROCESS
NOTE: Kindergarten students must turn 5 years old by September 1. If the student turns 5 after that date, please complete the form for Preschool 4’s program.
Classes are filling quickly; please complete an ADMISSIONS INQUIRY below prior to submitting an application. Our Admissions Director will then contact you about availability and next steps.

- PK-12 Applications must include documentation of any disability (i.e. a copy of the applicant’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), Private School Plan (PSP), Individualized Family Service Plan (ISFP), Section 504 Accommodation Plan, Individualized Learning Plan (ILP), etc.). Must be received prior to assessment.

- At Salem Academy, we are committed to providing an excellent educational experience tailored to meet the needs of our students. To ensure that each student can thrive in our academic environment, we require applicants to demonstrate readiness for their intended grade level. Please note that we are unable to accept applicants whose performance is more than one grade level below the expectations for their intended grade. This policy allows us to maintain our high academic standards while ensuring we can effectively support the success of every student in our care.
- Applicants who are currently being evaluated for a suspected disability will not move to the registration process until the evaluation is completed, and the results are shared with Salem Academy to review.
