Hi, my name is Janet Carruthers. I have been teaching at Salem Academy since 1998. I am a native of Oregon, having graduated from North Salem High School here in Salem, and George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. Be sure to say hi to my husband, Randy, the ISP Director and Video Production instructor at Salem Academy, who I have been married to for 27 years. We have five children and a doggie named Chewie. I love to see how God provides, and am looking forward to what He has in store for us this year! See you in class!

Hi, my name is Mr. Tim Saffeels; I am the newest member of the Music Staff at Salem Academy Christian Schools! I recently graduated from Corban College with a degree in Music Education. I have two parents that are also teachers and two brothers that are alumni of class of '06 from Salem Academy. I also am an alumnus of Salem Academy, class of '04! It is awesome to see how God has provided me with the amazing blessing of one of the coolest jobs in the entire world: being a Music Teacher!

Donna Ross was born in Pennsylvania and started playing flute in second grade. Graduating from Flowing Wells High School in Tucson, Arizona, she was a member of the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, High School Choir and Select Singers. She competed at Solo and Ensemble events as well as State Competitions. She played in Denver, Colorado, as the finalist from the state of Arizona and then traveled to Alberta Canada for college. She is married to David Ross and has 4 children.

• Prairie Bible Institute - 2 years playing principal flutist in their Orchestra while studying with the Royal Conservatory of Music and teaching flute lessons at the High School level.

• Western Baptist College (Corban), Salem, OR -She came to Oregon in 1973 to finish her B.S in flute performance

Current Area of Instruction 

• In addition to being in her fifth year at Salem Academy, she is involved in the Band Programs at West Salem High School, South Salem High School and Walker Middle School.
